Exhibition – Write in French: Écrire en français
As part of our “Écrire en français” exhibition, we had the great pleasure of welcoming several schools for guided visits and creative workshops, shining a spotlight on the beauty and diversity of the French language across the globe.
A heartfelt thank you to the three schools: SM Sains Raja Tun Azlan Shah, SEKOLAH TUANKU ABDUL RAHMAN, SMK Methodist Nibong Tebal — your curiosity, enthusiasm, and positive energy made the Alliance come alive!
Students explored the richness of French-speaking cultures and took part in a fun writing workshop — and of course, they enjoyed a delicious French breakfast to top it all off! 🥐
We’re excited to keep promoting the spirit of Francophonie and look forward to new and exciting collaborations in the near future!
Festival of Francophone Authors in Malaysia
Penang Edition
An enriching and inspiring event where we had the pleasure of welcoming three talented authors: Shih-Li Kow, Gil Bartholeyns, and Fouad Grairi.
The authors led captivating workshops for our literature enthusiasts, which were followed by a lively discussion moderated by Dato' Dr Ooi Kee Beng. The annual theme, animals, sparked passionate and thought-provoking exchanges.
It was a wonderful, convivial moment shared with the Francophone community and the local Malaysian community, a true moment of connection and discovery.
Thanks to Pom Madejian for giving us the opportunity to organise this festival in Penang and to everyone who participated, and we look forward to more cultural adventures ahead!
Fête du Court Métrage
we had a wonderful time hosting our Breakfast and Short films session as part of La Fête du Court Métrage, in collaboration with l’Institut Français.
We gathered families and people of all ages for a captivating selection of animated and live-action films, all while enjoying a delicious French breakfast.
It was a great way to come together and celebrate the joy of cinema, bringing the community closer through vibrant stories and delightful food.
French Ciné at Hin Bus Depot
Alliance Française de Penang, in collaboration with Hin Bus Depot and Open Studios Penang invites you to a new edition of French Ciné!
"Système K", a captivating documentary by Renaud Barret.
This film captures the raw energy of Kinshasa's underground art scene, where artists reclaim the streets through street art, plastic arts, and bold performances.
Amidst social and political turmoil, creativity becomes a weapon of resistance.
A must-watch for all art and culture lovers!
French Heritage Trail Tour
On April 5th, we had the pleasure of guiding our participants through the historic streets of Penang, uncovering key sites that tell the fascinating story of the French community’s influence on the island’s history.
A truly unique journey through time, offering a fresh perspective on Penang’s cultural heritage.
A big thank you to our guide Clement Liang and to everyone who joined us and made this experience so memorable!
